The Brazilian economy performed very well during the 2007/8 financial crisis. The impact of the crisis did no last for a long period and the economic policy implemented to offset the impact of the crisis is largely considered the main responsible to the very good performance exhibited by the Brazilian economy in comparison to the vast majority of emerging economies and, mainly, in comparison to the industrialized economies.
